Missed the 2fer

Alright, I only got to go snowboarding once this week. Timmy bailed on me Wednesday morning after work, so I got to sleep instead. It worked out ok. I got to lay around all day and do nothing....other than work on my computer.

Now, I did go snowboarding yesterday. And I rocked. I only really wiped out once, though I did have a couple more small spills later in the day. The biggest problem was that the snow sucked. It was not that fun. Even going straight down the hill, which is supposed to just rocket you into a blaze of speen, I could feel the snow just pulling back on the board, and I couldn't get any speed at all. I tried carving a bit, but sometimes the snow just didn't want to do anything for me, and thats when I got some smaller spills. But, it was a great day nonetheless.

This week it's a 2fer

So, Timmy and I are going snowboarding Wednesday morning as soon as we get out of work. We'll be going again on Friday. Hey, just trying to get every penny out of that season pass I bought.

I'm a little irritated today, as just after my hard drive crashed a few weeks ago, I managed to screw it up again. I installed linux on it, and after fighting to get the screen resolution set to widescreen, I screwed up a major file and now it wont boot. This sucks.

A Weekend Fulfilled

The weekend pretty much exactly as planned.

Wednesday after I got up up I went to the Pistons vs Blazers games. The Pistons won 87-75. It was a great game.

Thursday I went over to Russ's house to get my alarm installed. It took 10 hours and wasn't even able to get my radio installed thanks to GM and their retarted new systems that'll cost me another $130 just to adapt a wiring harness. That, or I could do it the old skool way and cut and splice the wires, but man, I hate doing that. I havent done that in years. But, I do have power locks with an alarm, remote start and keyless entry. It also has a pager system that tells me if the alarm is going off. It's pretty sweet.

Friday I got up and went snowboarding with Timmy. I'm getting pretty good now, as I only fell a few times. I sat down alot, but that was just to either avoid crashing, or becouse I didn't feel like running into other people who werent smart enough to stop and get out of other peoples way. They just stood right in the middle of the path. Morons.

After the snowboarding trip, I headed over to Outback Steakhouse to join my coworkers for dinner. It's always nice when your employer pays for a nice juicy steak. Not too mention picking on your boss and getting away with it, that rocks. I convinced everyone it was her birthday, and so not only did she get her complimentary Birthday Ice Cream, but we all got up and sang Happy Birthday. Wow was she embarrassed. It rocked.

Saturday involved taking the dogs down to the park, me getting sunburnt while there, and then finally getting rid of the unbelievable sized mountain of boxes that have accoumulated on my patio over the last year and a half. Yep, a nice fulfilling weekend.

No Rest For The Weary

It looks like I've already got most of this weekend filled up.

Before I get into that, let me go into my injury. Yes, my arm still hurts. It's slowly getting better. Timmy thinks it's just a pulled tricep, which sounds about right. No matter, it aint gonna slow me down.

Now, onto the weekend. Wednesday I have the Pistons Vs Blazers basketball game. I can't wait to watch the Pistons beat the crap out of this worthless hippie team (plus their owned by Paul Allen, cofounder of Microsoft, which makes me hate them even more). I've thought about heading up to the mountain before that to go snowboarding after I get out of work Wednesday morning, but that probably wont happen.

Thursday I get my car alarm installed. Finally. This baby has everything. Electronic locks with keyless entry, remote start, and it even has a pager system that tells my remote when the alarm is going off. Yep, this'll be one sweet setup. Once this gets down, I'll be installing my radio, and possibly even some speakers just for the fun of it.

Friday, were heading back up the mountain for another day of snowboarding. Hurt shoulder and all. The only bad part about it is that it's been above freezing (during the day) for all this week. They still got about 10 feet of snow, but it'll be kinda slushy. And possibly even icy. Too bad I didn't take this up back at the beginning of winter. It've been alot more fun.

And for Saturday, I got nothing. Probably just gonna lay around all day and recuperate from the snowboarding expedition.

hahahahahaha....WIPEOUT!

Yes, Think of the Beach Boys when you read the title.

Now that you've got that in your head, I'll give you the bad news. I went snowboarding again yesterday, and the second time I started heading down from one of the larger runs (near the top of the resort), and ate it bigtime coming around a curve. I got on my toe-edge (which I still suck at), picked up ALOT of speed, and couldn't turn around to get on my heels. I tried leaning down as far as possible to slow down, but eventually the edge of the board caught some ice and flipped me backwards, nailing my head and left shoulder into the ice. My head is okay (minus a good scrape on the nose) but my shoulder is in some pain.

I'm probably gonna wait this one out, especially since I wont be able to get into see a doctor until at least Monday, unless I feel like going to Urgent Care or the ER, but I dont really wanna pay the new extreme copays ($50 for the ER? I dont think so!)

Oh, and I'm sore all over.
