Detroit Tigers: American League Champions, World Series Bound!

The Detroit Tigers

That's Right! The Tigers swept the Oakland Athletics! In Motown, the temps in the 40's, and the game was tied 3-3 in the bottom of the Ninth. Placido Polanco on Second, Craig Monroe on First. Magglio Ordonez steps up to the plate. First Pitch, Strike. Second Pitch, Swing, and it's LOOOOOOOONNNNNNGGGGG GOOOOONNNNEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!

And with that, Mags helps send the Detroit Tigers to their first World Series since 1984. I could not be more happy right now. Mike Illitch (Owner: Little Ceasars Pizza, Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Tigers) finally gets to see his boys bring it home. Dave Dombrowski, General Manager, after a few years as the worst team in baseball, brings in the right people to do the job. And Jim Leyland, Manager. A World Series Winning Manager. He sets the stage. He brought the attitude this team needed. A winning attitude. And my last mention, Placido Polanco, the ALCS MVP. After he got hurt in late August, the Tigers started to suck and it cost them their Division, but they managed to stay in as the Wild Card. And then, Polanco came back, and they KICKED BUTT! They have won 8 straigt playoff games. The only game they have lost was game 1 in the ALDS against the Yankees. I am totally stoked for the World Series.
